Classic Campervan Insurance

Agreed valuation policies are available with certain Classic Campervan policies Lancaster Insurance Services sell and the inclusion of this benefit is dependent on a vehicles age, type of insurance you want and the insurer you choose.

If available purchasing an Agreed Valuation allows you to have your vehicle ‘valued’ by our independent valuers and a certificate of valuation (£) valid for up to 2 years issued to you meaning you know what your pay-out (£) would be for your vehicle in the event of a total loss (less any policy excess) prior to a total loss occurring.

Having an Agreed Valuation in place on your policy based on your vehicles condition and its current value for replacement means if the worst where to happen you can replace your vehicle with another Classic Campervan in a similar condition and value rather than taking the chance of being paid ‘market value’ for your vehicle. Market value could be considerably less than your vehicle was worth this is because ‘market value’ doesn’t take into account any restoration costs, modifications fitted, provenance and ‘market value’ isn’t specific to your vehicle where an agreed valuation policy is.

Being a member of a Classic Car / Campervan owner’s club as a true campervan enthusiast provides extra discounts, as true enthusiasts and Classic Car / Campervan club members historically have less claims, so our insurers provide extra discount on this basis, plus you get all the benefits your owners club provides, win, win!

Often a true Classic Campervan will be on the road less than your everyday vehicle often only being used at the weekend, holidays and high days and our insurers often reward you with extra discount for ‘limited mileage’ on this basis.

Lancaster Insurance Services are partnered with several Classic Campervan insurers who will allow you to choose your own repairer in the event of accident where your Classic Campervan needs repairing rather than you needing to use the insurers approved repairer (subject to terms & conditions set by the insurer). This option allows Classic Campervan owners and enthusiasts to take their vehicles for repair to the garage / restorer of the vehicle or to a local garage who might work on the vehicle regularly so they can carry out the work for you providing you that extra peace of mind if the worst were to occur.

We understand Classic Campervan owners and enthusiasts either want to or need to modify their vehicle for numerous reasons and our insurers accept most modifications you can think of from something as simple as fitting more modern alloy wheels to replacing the engine with a larger ‘cc’ engine to get that extra horsepower for the longer journeys or just because your engine seized, Lancaster can offer cover for most modifications.

Remember to inform us of ALL modifications to ensure we provide you with valid like-for-like insurance cover for your vehicle as non-disclosure of modifications of any type can cause problems when making a claim, it is better to pay a few pounds at inception for your modifications rather than risk not getting paid out when a claim arises for non-disclosure.
